Building Fellowship
A Stewardship Campaign of Fellowship Bible Church
As our name suggests, we place a high priority on teaching,
preaching and living by the inspired Word of God. It is our
firm conviction that the Bible is more than just a collection
of inspiring sayings. The Bible is God’s Word, and so reveals
his nature. That means it is true, relevant for everyday living,
penetrating in its conviction and loving in its appeal.
Our name also suggests that we are a community. Our fellowship is not only with
God through Jesus Christ, but with each other. We don’t take that lightly or treat
it casually. We are intentional about being relationally authentic and consider it a
privilege to love, encourage and serve one another.
All this combines to make FBC a very special place! Evidently a lot of other
people believe that, too, as we have been blessed by God with consistent growth
since the church began in the fall of 2003. By God’s grace working in concert with
faithful obedience, we face a new opportunity in our brief history to increase our
capacity for ministry by adding to our facilities.
Take a look around the next time you come to church. The parking lot is full.
The hallways are crowded. The classrooms are teeming with children! If you’re
really brave, come back on a Wednesday night and see how we minister to 40
teenagers and 175 Awana students all under one roof! You can forget about
attending an adult class on Wednesday night or using the building for a ministry
team meeting ... there’s just no space!
Shrinking back is not an option. Slowing down is not our choice to make. Waiting
for the economy to recover would be like asking God to hold off his blessing until
the time is right for us to receive it! In fact, the current economic climate means
building costs are lower now than they’ve been in recent memory. I believe God
is clearly at work, and it is now our opportunity, once again, to respond in faith
and trust! To continue fulfilling the vision of FBC, the time has come to expand on
the outside so we may continue growing on the inside.
Building Fellowship is a campaign intended to do just that. We’re not building a
monument, and we aren’t building an attraction. By God’s grace we are planning
to use additional building space to increase the fellowship of believers. Building
Fellowship is about how more square feet can mean more serving hands for God’s church.
